Abstract

The modern sports are constantly challenging and needs a scientific individualized training protocol in order to be a record-breaking performer. Regular muscular graded exercise is prerequisite for better adaptation of training stimuli. Any physical or psychological stimuli that disrupt homeostasis result in a stress response. Muscular exercise is perhaps the most common form of stress that humans experience. Adaptation of Training stimuli largely depends upon the scientific optimum recovery protocol. Exercise physiology, in turn, is the study of how the body responds to this form of stress. Understanding exercise stress and how to impose it is the primary mission of the sports scientist. The purpose of narrative review-based study is to discuss the exercise induces stress and its management through recovery techniques to optimize sporting performance with specific emphasis on rest and recovery intervals.
